- Translation memory At thebigword we use translation memory in the vast majority of our workflow. Our memory tools consist of databases of segments in a source language and their translations into one or more target languages. We use the latest in translation memory technology, including contextual matching algorithms, alignment and terminology generation tools, to help ensure consistency throughout a project and to minimise costs. Our translation memory tools are compatible with all industry standards including TMX, XLIFF, TBX and SRX.
- Terminology management tools Our terminology management tools rapidly create databases of terminology to be used in conjunction with translation memory databases and style guides. They work by identifying commonly used words and segments in documents and matching them with pre-approved translations, thereby significantly improving translation quality and consistency.
- Grammar and spell check engines thebigword GMS™ and linguist tools include grammar and spell check functions that aid linguists and add an extra layer of quality assurance.
- Quality assurance tools At thebigword we have built quality assurance tools into all of our localisation workflows. These tools check for typos, missed text, incorrect numbering and punctuation, etc., ensuring that we always deliver the highest quality translations.
- Project management software thebigword has created the most comprehensive project management software in the world, allowing our teams to create complex workflows that bring significant efficiencies to the translation process, whilst increasing quality and consistency.
