thebigword has come a long way
since 1980
thebigword was established in
Leeds over 25 years ago when the Link Up Group burst into the market for
recruitment and language services.
Larry Gould formed the Link Up
Group in 1980, a professional company providing desperately needed
recruitment and language services to businesses throughout the UK.
At this time just five people worked for the organisation, but they
were all committed to providing the highest quality customer
service.
The Link Up Group grew
organically over the next 16 years, rapidly expanding to become a
leading light in the recruitment and language industries. It was
only then that a major development allowed the language division of
Link Up to become thebigword as it is today...
thebigword goes it alone
The pivotal moment for thebigword
was in 1996 when the recruitment division of Link Up Group was sold.
This left the way clear for thebigword to flourish as a stand-alone
translation services company.
With a sole focus on translation
services, thebigword took full advantage of new technology to offer
clients an even wider range of
language services.
thebigword became the
first language company to achieve ISO accreditation, demonstrating an ability to consistently meet
customer and regulatory requirements. It was also the first language
company to hold the Investors in People award.
thebigword quickly expanded to
meet the demands of an increasing client base, winning translation
projects from some of the world's largest organisations. After
outstanding success in the translation market and a series of major
acquisitions, thebigword took its place as one of the world's top
ten translation companies in 2005.
thebigword is well on the way to
becoming the world's leading translation company, but what exactly
is happening today?
